About Rusalka Swim Academy

Our Swim School is a caring family business, fully owned and operated by Yulia and Graham Parker, offering swimming tuition and water confidence to babies & children from 4 months upwards. And adults too! We are not a franchise for a company with headquarters miles away and we operate only within our own purpose built modern swimming pool complex complete with separate changing rooms, shower and toilet facilities. Plenty of free private parking right outside too!

All swimming tuition is planned, conducted or overseen by Yulia, a former International swimmer, holder of a Master's Degree in Sport Science with a total specialisation in swimming. She is a very experienced ASA Swimming Teacher with 20 years experience of teaching children, she is also a qualified ASA Tutor (i.e. a teacher of swimming teachers), a Fellow of the Institute of Swimming, an ASA Club Coach and is fully CRB (police) checked for working with children. She also holds Speedo Shallow and Deep Water Aqua Fitness certifications. Furthermore, she is the 2007 / 2008 ASA Swimtastic Awards, UK Swimming Teacher of the Year!

Graham is an international award winning underwater cameraman, having worked extensively in both oilfield and military operations prior to specialising in commercial underwater assignments of all sorts including advertising, fashion and top level competitive swimming. He holds HSE Parts 1, 111 & 1V diving certification, is an experienced outside broadcast cameraman, news cameraman and has produced numerous documentary programmes.

We are located in Horndean, Hampshire, where we have our own superb, indoor swimming pool complex offering a beautiful 12.5m x 6.5m, crystal clear modern pool, featuring a shallow end of 0.9m and a deep end 3m. The air and water temperatures are automatically controlled, regulated and nominally maintained at 33c and 31c respectively, with fully automatic dehumidification. Complimenting this there are modern clean changing rooms complete with private showers and toilets. The shower and tap water temperatures are regulated so that accidental scalding to children cannot occur.
