Childrens' LessonsSwimming Programme:Our Swimming Programme is run in accordance with the Amateur Swimming Association of Great Britain's (The ASA) National Plan for Teaching Swimming in conjunction with the Kellogg's Frosties ASA Awards Scheme, starting from Non-Swimmer - Level 1 up to Pre-Competition Development. We also offer Stroke Development and "Fun and Fitness" classes for children who wish to swim for fitness and perhaps learn things like lifesaving techniques alongside of other aquatic disciplines. At Rusalka, testing takes place at the end of each term to record the progression and achievement of each swimmer. All swimmers who successfully pass at least eight out of the ten aspects, required by the ASA Awards scheme for their current level, will be eligible for a certificate of achievement and a badge and recommended for promotion to the next level up, for the following term. Group (classes) Organisation:Each group is organised by ability and similar age. There will only ever be a maximum of 5 children in a group, with only one group in the pool at any one time. Lessons Structure:Lessons of 30 minutes duration are held weekly between 4pm and 7pm Monday to Friday, and Saturday 9am till 12.30pm and follow normal school term and holiday periods. Each lesson is intensive with all swimmers active in the water at all times. There is no sitting, shivering and waiting on the poolside for their '3 - 5 minute turn' at Rusalka! And, of course, parents are always welcome to watch their children's swimming lesson too. |
